The Early Years: Foundation & Recognition
My foundation was built exactly where I was born: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The discipline and drive I rely on today were shaped early on while attending Bishop McDevitt Catholic High School, and later while earning my undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
Even while going on to earn my Master's in Political Science at Fordham University and achieving recognition as one of New York's 30 Under 30 political operatives, I knew my real calling was not just shaping policy from a distance. It was doing the heavy lifting on the ground. I stepped into foundational care roles, serving as the Executive Director of a childcare center and subsequently running a personal care home. Those roles taught me firsthand what it means to support families and operations when they are at their most vulnerable.
Scaling Impact & The Start of Mentorship
Eventually, that grassroots perspective scaled. I founded a home healthcare agency that grew to employ over 1,500 people in the Philadelphia region, providing vital care to more than 600 individuals. Building and managing an organization of that magnitude required immense grit and strategic execution.
It was also during this time that I discovered a deeper passion for guiding others. As the son of an educator, I began actively mentoring over two dozen entrepreneurs and business leaders. I have helped several grow multimillion dollar revenue companies, while others have successfully purchased homes and commercial property under my guidance. To this day, empowering others through mentorship remains my absolute favorite thing to do.
The Crucible & Community Building
While I was expanding and building my real estate portfolio, one of my other businesses failed measurably. It was a heavy blow, but rather than breaking me, it became the crucible for everything that followed. It forced me to strip away the noise, redefine my goals, and shift my perspective entirely toward creating tangible, lasting impact.
Using the lessons from that setback, I launched a non-profit that successfully guided 74 families into their very first homes. I rolled up my sleeves to rehab 11 properties in disadvantaged neighborhoods in Philadelphia, focusing heavily on restoring neighborhood pride alongside the brick and mortar.
Innovating for Texans: Property Tax Relief
When I brought my expertise to Texas, I saw a new opportunity to protect local communities. Leveraging my deep background in real estate, I created a proprietary program that successfully lowered the property tax bills of hundreds of hardworking Texans across Harris County and the Greater Houston area. This initiative ensured that families could keep more of their hard-earned wealth and remain secure in their homes.
The Anchor: Strategy & Leadership Today
Today, as the President of Catan Strategy Group, the same quiet endurance that pushes me to cross the finish line of a 3:55:43 marathon fuels my professional and investment life out of Cypress, Texas and the Greater Houston area. CSG helps small and mid-sized business owners hire better people, build smarter AI systems, prepare for exit, and access capital — all without the runaround.
But the true foundation of everything I do isn't found in a corporate boardroom. It is at home. Being a husband to Rechanda and a father to our two young sons is my ultimate anchor. Every business built, every leader mentored, every neighborhood improved, and every mile run is ultimately about leaving a legacy they can be proud of.
